F1 calendar 2022: All car launch dates are now in

The F1 car launch calendar for 2022 has finally been completed after Williams confirmed a date this past Tuesday. This season there is greater expectation than ever to see the designs of the new single-seaters that will compete in the revolutionary era about to commence. Well, Fans will only have to wait a few more hours for the lights to come on the great Formula One catwalk, where the all-new dazzling four-wheeled models will display their every detail over the next two weeks.

Besides Haas and its VF-22, unveiled on February 4, Red Bull will open fire this Wednesday, February 9 with an online event. The RB18 will be the weapon for Max Verstappen to defend his crown with his teammate the Mexican Sergio Perez, by his side.

Only 24 hours after that, on February 10, it will be Aston Martin’s turn. The green team, which is undergoing a deep restructuring after a disappointing 2021 campaign, is hoping to take a leap in quality with its new AMR22. Tasked with that objective for one more year are the Canadian and team owner’s son, Lance Stroll, and the four-time German champion.

McLaren, Alpha Tauri & Williams

The following day, on February 11, the McLaren MCL36 of the Englishman Lando Norris and the Australian Daniel Ricciardo will be introduced to the world. The Australian’s poor performance prevented the team from fulfilling its objective of finishing third in the Constructors’ Championship last season. Despite that setback, their aim is to continue making progress.

Kicking off another full week of F1 car launches, Alpha Tauri will try and win the hearts of its fans with the unveiling of their new AT03 on Valentine’s Day (February 14). The outstanding Pierre Gasly, together with the still-to-prove-himself, Yuki Tsunoda, remain the team’s two official drivers.

The team from Faenza will give way to Williams for the full presentation of their machine on Tuesday 15. At its wheel and for the third consecutive year will be Nicholas Latifi alongside newcomer Alex Albon, who is back in F1 after one season away from this sport.

Ferrari & Mercedes

Perhaps the most legendary team on the grid and certainly the one with the most passionate following is Ferrari. Maranello is scheduled to unveil its F1-75 on February 17. For the second successive year, and after finishing third in the 2021 Constructors’ Championship, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will be in charge of fighting for victory. If everything goes to plan, this campaign should mark the resurgence of the Prancing Horse.

The other great protagonists of the 2022 car launches will be Mercedes. The Germans will reveal their W13 to fans on February 19. Deeply wounded after losing the individual title in the last round of the 2021 season, they are very eager to show the world what they are made of. The Briton Lewis Hamilton is still after his eighth crown and together with his new teammate and compatriot George Russell, who arrives from Williams, will seek the conquer the ninth consecutive Constructors’ title.

Alpine & Alfa Romeo

Just 48 hours before the start of the first (unofficial) pre-season tests at the Barcelona Circuit (February 23-25), Alpine fans will be able to see the new lines of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon’s A522 for the first time. Then, in an unusual move, Alfa Romeo (C42) will launch its car on February 27, two days after the completion of the training sessions in Spain.

The team from Hinwil will also be officially presenting its brand-new line-up with Chinese rookie Guanyu Zhou, substituting Antonio Giovinazzi, and the Finn Valtteri Bottas, from Mercedes. The latter will be taking the seat of his compatriot Kimi Raikkonen, who retired at the end of 2021.
