NASCAR | Excitement and surprises at the last Monster Energy Cup playoff cutdown race of the season

By M. C. – photo: diariosport.com | Arizona, the last opportunity to make it to the final at Homestead Miami, met all expectations in a race full of excitement, passion and surprises at Phoenix Raceway. The greatest one of all was without a doubt the victory of Matt Kenseth, a driver who has suffered a fair share of challenges this season in the form of both mechanical and human errors.

The most exciting part of the last playoff race of the season, and what gave it its extra competitive edge however, was to finally find out who will be joining the existing finalists, Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick, at the Ford EcoBoost 400 next Sunday 19th of November at Homestead-Miami Speedway circuit.

It was not an easy fight with as many as five drivers (Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott, Jimmie Johnson y Brad Keselowski) coming out decided to give it all for the last ticket to the final. Hamlin, whose great start quickly made him one of the favourites, ended up out of the race after touching Chase Elliott in a breathtaking battle. Elliott came in second again but this wasn’t enough to grant him the coveted place in the final. All this contributed to Brad Keselowski’s good fortune which granted him the fourth and last place at the final in Florida.

Two Fords and two Toyotas will battle it out next Sunday for the great Monster Energy NASCAR Cup 2017 title.
