Antifreeze, an ally under extreme temperatures

One of the times when vehicles suffer the most is when they are exposed to extreme temperatures. As the cold weather intensifies over the northern hemisphere, car owners should dedicate some time to the maintenance of their vehicles. With thermometers going down to below 0ºC temperatures, engines and all other component ducts of cars and tracks alike run the risk of freezing. Under these circumstances it is essential to use an adequate antifreeze. Not doing so, or using one that is not up to scratch, could result in serious damage to the vehicle.

The antifreeze also has lesser known properties beyond that of preventing the engine from freezing. It also helps against corrosion and rust as well as having anti-foaming qualities. In warm temperatures, as with those fast approaching in the southern hemisphere, the antifreeze, also known as coolant liquid, keeps the engine at the right temperature: neither too hot nor too cold. It is because of this that it is key to adequately maintain such an important liquid for the ‘health’ of our vehicle and choose a quality product that guarantees that balance of temperatures.
