After many negotiations and some doubts, an update to the official MotoGP 2020 calendar has finally been published. The road to the specialty crown, in a season marked by the coronavirus crisis, will consist of thirteen races in five countries.

Specifically, Spain, the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy and France will host the European tour, with seven rounds on the Iberian Peninsula, and five double dates, between July and November.

With no public in the stands, with great sanitary measures due to the threat of the pandemic and limited by a very small staff on the circuits, the championship will start with the Grand Prix of Spain and Andalusia, on July 19 and 26, respectively.

And it will conclude four months later with two events in the same country, two consecutive races in Aragon (October 18 and 25) and a last one in the Valencian Community (November 8 and 15).

On the other hand, the company promoting the event, DORNA, has set July 31 as the maximum date to communicate whether it will be possible to hold four other races in Asia and America (United States, Argentina, Thailand and Malaysia).

To date, the pandemic has forced the cancellation of the Qatar Grand Prix – the opening date of the event -, the Netherlands, Germany, Finland, Great Britain, Australia, Japan and Italy.
