by M.C. – photo: official web pages | The most popular motor racing competition in the world, the F1, is due to start in less than a month’s time. The Australian Grand Prix, which will take place on the 25th of March, will finally shed some light into any doubts that might still lure in people’s heads regarding some of the scuderias and their drivers. This week we have seen the last of the new car presentations for this season (apart from Ford India’s, which will be unveiled over the next few days). All scuderias have had a very exciting week launching their new vehicles for the competition. Some, such as Mercedes, have put on rather spectacular shows for the occasion, whereas other like Ferrari have opted for a more traditional Italian elegance approach. Others like McLaren have gone for a mixture of styles.
With no major changes regarding the driver-scuderia configurations, it is left to see what will come about the shifting of constructors as with the new partnership Renault-McLaren which substitutes the former allegiance of the Britons with Honda. Toro Rosso, on the other hand, has changed a French engine for a Japanese one. Will Fernando Alonso finally be able to drive a competitive machine thanks to Renault, the same constructor that once took him to the very top? Will Honda have fixed their technical issues after breaking up with McLaren and Alonso? It all remains to be seen.
As the first official season tests are being carried out this week at the Catalunya circuit, in Montmelo, it is worth having a final look at the definitive driver’s grid of this upcoming F1 2018 season.
