Viñales gets on a motorcycle two months after his accident

The Valentino Rossi´s team-mate at Yamaha MotoGP, Maverick Viñales, has riden a motorcycle again two months after the accident he suffered while practicing motocross in March.

The reunion with a two-wheeled machine took place this past Monday at the Andorra-Pas de la Casa Circuit, reconditioned to host the ‘training’ of several pilots during these days.

In the session, the one from Figueras shared the track with the Majorcan Joan Mir, Suzuki rider in the Queen Category, and with Madrid-born Jorge Martín, from the Moto2 KTM Racing team.

The route, located at 2,400 meters above sea level, already became the training venue for other illustrious Premier Class names last week, such as teammates in Suzuki Álex Rins and Joan Mir (recently renovated).

Also the Catalan in Avintia Racing, Tito Rabat, returned to action on this track after the break caused by the coronavirus crisis. These trainings were possible after the authorities of the Pyrenean country established a normative provision by which professional pilots are allowed to train on the tracks.

In this way, the speed professionals resident in Andorra have the possibility to get ready before the start of the season. This could start with the Spanish Grand Prix, scheduled for July 19 at the Jerez Circuit, if the pandemic allows it.
