The 2023 IMSA Championship Sets Off with The 24 Hours of Daytona

This year’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is just around the corner, with the 24 Hous of Daytona being held on January 28th and 29th.

 

This endurance race, which takes place at the iconic Daytona International Speedway in Florida, will feature a talented lineup of drivers and teams competing in multiple classes, such as the Daytona Prototype international (DPi), Le Mans Prototype 2 (LMP2), GT Le Mans (GTLM), and GT Daytona (GTD) categories.

 

This event’s history dates back to 1962 and it’s one of the most iconic races in motorsports worldwide. As the drivers compete for the esteemed Rolex watch awarded to the winner, this year’s event has everything to get fans excited for an electrifying championship.

 

During the event, our eyes are on Acura and portuguese driver Filipe Albuquerque, supported by Grupo Alves Bandeira, which MatraX belongs to. Albuquerque will compete in the LMP2 category alongside teammates Ricky Taylor and Louis Delétraz. With his exceptional skills and experience, he’s a driver to keep an eye on during the race.
