The six-time French champion Sébastien Ogier (Toyota Gazoo Racing) has broken the silence that he maintained since his victory in the third and last WRC test held to date, the Rally of Mexico, before the coronavirus crisis forced to stop the competition
Specifically, the leader of the World Rally Championship has starred in a broadcast interview through Red Bull Motorsports’ Instagram Live program.
During the conversation, in addition to reviewing the key moments of his career, Sébastien Ogier has commented that he could reconsider his decision to retire at the end of the current campaign.
“In the event that the championship no longer resumes this year or that we play very few rallies until the end, there is the possibility that I will stay one more year“.
“I have to be honest and say that I am now a little more open to this possibility. No one could have guessed the current situation, so everything that will happen this year is very uncertain“.
The unusual season of the WRC, waiting for the pandemic to allow the resumption of the competition, could make the Frenchman decide to continue being active in 2021.
Not surprisingly, he knows that the current course, that of his debut with Toyota, is in the air. In fact, at best, there will be a handful of races to be determined.
