By M. C. – photo: wrc.com | Australia goes under the spotlight as the final date of the World Rally Car 2017 draws near. The M-Sport French driver Sebastien Ogier will be able to sit back and have some fun during the fort coming race in Aussieland, after having already secured his fifth consecutive WRC title, an achievement that both team and driver have been celebrating since it was decided at Rally GB two weeks ago. From the 16th until the 19th of November, rally fans will delight in the last of the competition for the year.
How is the final looking? Well, the title is decided but second place is still up for grabs: The Estonian Ott Tänak from M-Sport will fight for the silver crown against the Belgian Thierry Neuville from Hyundai.
In any case, and looking at his performance from previous years, Ogier remains the favourite for the victory at a circuit which is considered to be ‘different’ from the rest. Elfyn Evans; the likely runner-up Tänak; or his rival Neuville, among others, can not be ruled out either. Hyundai’s Norwegian driver Andreas Mikklesen was last year’s champion with his then team Volkswagen.
