The Formula 1 Ferrari team has officially announced that the German driver Sebastian Vettel will not renew his contract, leaving Maranello when the current 2020 Formula One World Championship ends.

The four-time German champion has commented in a joint document with the squad that “we have realized that there is no longer a common desire to stay together. My relationship with the Scuderia Ferrari will end in late 2020.”

This statement has ended rumors circulating about the future of Sebastian Vettel, which had exploded in recent days after the negotiations stalled.

Negotiations between the team and its driver were complicated from the beginning, when both parties showed very distant positions in their claims.

Added to these factors is his difficult sporting situation in Maranello after the arrival of Charles Leclerc in 2019. The Monegasque Pearl has eclipsed the Teuton bringing him to the exit door.

The future of the Sebastian Vettel could lead him to McLaren, Renault, Red Bull or, if he is not satisfied with any of these alternatives, he could choose to retire. At 32 years old, happily married and with three children, he has a considerable wealth to live comfortably.

In this scenario, Vettel will probably leave without fulfilling the mission for which he was signed: to return the title to Ferrari. He only got closer in 2017 and 2018 when finishing second, but very far in points of the star empire.
