The two-time World Rally champion, Carlos Sainz, was chosen the best racer in the history of the specialty, after a voting launched by the promoter of the Championship (WRC), in which fans and mortoring journalists participated.

After an exciting final, the Madrid-born has obtained 57.28 percent of the 80,000 votes cast, compared to 42.72 percent won by Sébastien Loeb, the nine-times French champion and most successful driver of all time.

Through a video posted on social networks, El Matador has expressed his happiness for this award, a new one in its extensive gallery of trophies, and took the opportunity to thank the fans who have voted for him.
