The Catalan MotoGP rider, Aleix Espargaró and his team, Aprilia, announced an agreement that extends their relationship for the next two seasons 2021 and 2022, with the aim of promoting a renewed project.

Nicknamed ‘il capitano’, for his role in the transalpine structure, the Granollers rider will lead Aprilia’s project as its lead partner until the end of 2022, the year of his six anniversary with the Italian force.

Without a doubt, both parties will continue to grow together with the main objective of going up in the General classification of Premier Class.

“I am happy with the agreement. The human factor is something very important to me and in these four seasons Aprilia has become my second family, and with this contract, which is undoubtedly the most important in my career, I have experienced that the project revolves around me”.

“From a technical point of view, what convinced me was the growth of the last few months, with the arrival of many new forces, as well as the debut of the RS-GP 2020, which worked very well in the tests”.

“I want to compete with the new bike to be able to take this project to the place it deserves”, Aleix Espargaró said in a statement from his team.
