The 2019 MotoGP Calendar will keep the exact same dates in the exact same order as in 2018. There will be 19 races in total spread across 15 different countries and four continents (Asia, Europe, America, and Oceania).
Once again Spain will host the most races of all during the championship, four in total. These are the Grand Prix of Jerez (May 5), Catalonia (June 16), Aragon (September 22) and Valencia (November 17).
The only significant change in the 2019 MotoGP Calendar is the bringing forward of the whole season by a week compared to previous years. The action will kick-off on March the 10th with the Qatar Grand Prix at the Losail Circuit. The season finale will take place in Valencia, Spain at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Cheste.
The two-wheel championship will arrive in Europe for its fourth round with the Jerez Grand Prix at the -Angel Nieto Circuit. After the Spanish race, the pilots will journey through the old continent starting in France on May the 19th and continuing into Italy (June 2), Catalonia, (June 16), Holland (June 30), Germany (July 7), Czech Republic (August 4), Austria, (August 11) and Great Britain on the 25th of August.
After England, engines will be given a three-week summer holiday break with the championship resuming at the San Marino Grand Prix on September the 15th. The last race of the European leg will be the Aragon Grand Prix.
After Europe will come the always crucial Asian leg with the first date in Thailand on October the 6th followed by Japan (October 20) Australia (October 27) and Malaysia (November 3). Finally, as tradition dictates, the curtain will be lowered in Cheste, Spain on November the 17th.
Races will run in consecutive weekends in three occasions throughout the 2019 season. The first such occurrence will be the Dutch and German GPs in June. Two months later, in August, the Czech Republic and Austrian GPs will also run one after the other and finally, the Misano and Aragon races will take place consecutively in September.
All in all this edition promises to be a very exciting one with the main highlight being the teaming up of Jorge Lorenzo and current champion Marc Márquez, in the Honda-Repsol team. Sparks are likely to fly with the two world champions sharing a box!
